At Madorahealth, we offer patients a full consultation with our fully qualified Nurse Practitioner who will undertake a comprehensive history and examination to see if you are suitable for the injections. We have two type injections below Mounjaro and Wegovy.
Mounjaro
Mounjaro is suitable for people with:
A BMI of 30 or over.
A BMI of 27 to 30 and have another weight-related 'co-morbidity' (e.g high blood pressure, high cholesterol, sleep apnoea)
- Patients with a BMI below 27
- You or your family have a history of MTC- medullary thyroid cancer
- You have a diagnosis of MEN2 - multiple endocrine adenomarosis type 2
- Have an allergy to the drug
Mounjaro activates two receptors called GLP-1 and GIP to increase the level of incretins (hormones) in the body. It works by helping your body to produce more insulin when needed. It also reduces the amount of glucose, or sugar, produced by the liver, and slows down how quickly food is digested.
It is administered via injections once a week
Mounjaro supports weight loss of around 4% of body weight after one month. After two months, it's around 6% of body weight.

Wegovy
Wegovy injections are a modern medical approach to aid weight loss. Madora is accredited through The strategic centre for obesity professional education (SCOPE). We undertake a comprehensive history to see if you are suitable .
We then offer Wegovy to suitable clients with a BMI of over 30 and struggled to lose weight with other methods.
Wegovy contains a GLP-1 hormone. This hormone is produced after you have eaten food and acts as an appetite suppressant, making you feel full. This treatment is widely considered to be a very reliable and effective weight loss solution that helps you keep a control of the amount of calories that you eat in a day.
